At times, these security measures may trigger a 403 error, preventing the submission of an application. In situations where a 403 error occurs, the cause is usually one of three (3) culprits, which are outlined below. Please review these, adjust your application accordingly, and try resubmitting your application. Special characters, such as em-dashes, ampersands, or brackets, can sometimes contain additional data that triggers an error, so the BACB recommends using standard punctuation characters. Languages using non-Roman alphabets include characters or symbols that the application may not recognize, and the BACB recommends using US or British English for all mass email content. Large images or unapproved file types will prevent submission of an application, and the BACB recommends using .jpg, .jpeg, and .png files only, each smaller than 1MB. In rare circumstances, the security of the mass email application can prevent the submission of an application that appears perfectly normal and to have no issues. For these rare circumstances, the BACB has a workaround process to help with your application. This workaround involves a mass email team member creating an application on your behalf, using information you provide to them via email. Once that team member generates the application for you and submits it, everything will proceed per the standard mass email policies and procedure, as if you had submitted yourself. To submit a 403 workaround request, please hit the "Submit" button below. A member of the mass email team will contact you within one business day of your submission with instructions.403 still happening* I am still receiving 403 errors upon submission Is your inquiry related to an existing application, or do you have a question prior to submission?* Existing Application(s) No Application Yet Application Details*Please provide the Application ID associated with the application in question, as well as the date it was originally submitted. Every mass email is sent to a very precise audience, selected by the applicant through a series of demographic options. Unless a certificant meets every single one of those options, they will not receive the mass email. A certificant must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive a mass email: They are an active certificant – The mass email service only sends to active BACB certificants (RBTs, BCaBAs, BCBAs, BCBA-Ds). Even if a person has a BACB account and meets all the other demographic options, if they are not an active certificant, they will never receive a mass email. Their account information matches the requested demographics – The mass email system is only as good as the data certificant's provide to the BACB. Certificants can set their mass email preferences in their account, and will only receive mass emails for the categories in which they “opt in.” The mass email lists are updated daily (business days), to ensure any changes certificants makes to their accounts are caught appropriately. They are subscribed to the mass email system – While a certificant's account information will determine what categories of mass emails they receive, the decision of whether a certificant receives a mass email at all lies outside of their account. All certificants are automatically subscribed for the mass email service when they first become active but can unsubscribe at any time using the "unsubscribe" links found in any mass email the BACB sends. Once a certificant unsubscribes, they will not receive any further mass emails, regardless of their account settings, unless they resubscribe themselves. The BACB cannot assist with the first two factors. Only active certificants whose account information matches the demographics requested will receive a given mass email. If the account information is correct though, and their certification is active, then the likely situation is that the certificant unsubscribed at some point. This is a common occurrence, and there is an easy solution: the "I WANT TO RESUBSCRIBE" button below. This will open a special form where the certificant can resubscribe themselves to the mass email list. They will need to use the full name, email address, and BACB ID used within their BACB.
