The BACB as a Workplace
Who We Are
The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is a nonprofit corporation, established in 1998. With over 260,000 certified professionals, we are the leading certifying entity for behavior analysts and behavior technicians.
Our mission is to protect consumers of behavior-analytic services by systematically establishing, promoting, and disseminating professional standards of practice. To help achieve this mission, the BACB maintains a talented workforce of over 90 employees and hundreds of volunteers.
Employees work in various departments or teams, including Certification Services, Testing, Ethics, Information Technology, Marketing and Communications, Human Resources, and Training. For example, an employee in the Certification Services department may process an application submitted by an individual interested in becoming certified. An employee in the Testing department may coordinate activities involving volunteers of subject matter experts tasked with writing or editing test questions for a certification exam. Positions vary and are intended to help the BACB accomplish its primary role of operating certification programs.
Commitment to Our People
The BACB is committed to investing in our employees’ professional development. We strive to provide the appropriate training and development programs to help employees meet their performance expectations, increase retention, enhance innovation, improve customer satisfaction, and foster a positive workplace culture.
In addition to training and professional development, we offer a competitive benefits package, including:
Commitment to our Local Community
As part of a broader community in Colorado, the BACB is committed to careful stewardship of precious resources. We foster energy efficiency through solar panels, 100% cloud-based systems, energy-efficient windows, LED lights, energy star appliances, and other means. Our grounds are beautified by native landscaping, and we have moved to paperless operations as much as possible.
When paper is necessary, the BACB uses recycled paper and has placed recycling containers throughout the building for easy access. We have eight electric vehicle charging stations and own an electric van for transporting volunteers. Finally, we host electronic recycling events and invite employees to recycle professional and personal products.
